Are you packing a special care package for a deployed daddy this year? Here are 5 perfect crafty gifts that any deployed daddy would love to receive this Father’s Day.
Last year was the first year we celebrated Mother’s and Father’s Day with our little girl. For Father’s Day I did a bunch of little crafts for daddy. Things that were easy with a baby, like mess free finger painting, a footprint tie, and some quick pictures. This year I decided to turn to Pinterest for ideas. When it hit me, there will most likely be Father’s Days in the future where our little girl won’t be handing daddy her gift, but will be sending it instead. It is amazing how these random thoughts can still have such an emotional impact on me. And there isn’t even a known deployment on our horizons.
But if you are in the bringing, middle, or nearing the end of deployment and are looking for some last-minute quick and easy crafts to send the deployed daddy in your life, here are some of my favorites.
Send a Hug or Even Yourself
Sending a hug is always a favorite, and so adorable! Who doesn’t want a hug from their little one?
But if you have enough paper, why not send your whole self! I love this idea, especially if it is near the end of the deployment and your little one has been growing like a weed. Give daddy a sneak peek on just how big his little one currently is!
An All About Dad Page
Kids answers are always the best (even if right now our little one’s most popular answer to any questions is, noooooo). Skip To My Lou has a free printable of this exact coloring page, here!
Rocking Dad Artwork
Dad’s everywhere know they rock, so why not turn them into rocks? When I saw this Rocking Dad idea I couldn’t help but giggle. We all know deployed daddies don’t have a lot of space, but would find somewhere to display their rocking look-a-like!
Hero Footprints
I’m not going to lie, this one made me choke up a little. I found this on Pinterest, but unfortunately couldn’t find a link to where it was originally posted. But it wouldn’t to too hard to recreate. Just use some washable paint on the bottom of a pair of combat boots, and stamp them onto a piece of paper. Once dry, add the kids footprints overtop. Guaranteed to melt even the biggest bad-ass daddies hearts.
Take Some Pictures
They don’t have to be super fancy, just some snapshots of your little ones holding up signs that say whatever it is they want them to say. This like; I Love Daddy, Miss You, Love You, Your My Hero, all work great. Just be creative, and let the kids take the lead! Then print them off and add them to the package. Or if you’re a big into procrastinating, send them to daddy via e-mail if that is something he can receive while deployed!
