P is for PCS
Anytime asks me what PCS stands for, I always just say, it means it is time to move. Apparently the letters actually stand for something, which I figured. PCS broken down is, Permanent Change of Station.
Everyone in the military knows PCSing is just part of the lifestyle. Every military spouse knows the horror of having to list your last five addresses, we all know what it is like to open a box and find it full of broken household items that you loved, and we all know what it is like to finally feel settled and to have our spouse come home and say it is time to go.
Some people envy our continuously moving lifestyle, others have no idea how we do it, never really settling down anywhere.
Well the truth is, I both love and hate the constant moving. Part of me loves the ideology that there is a new adventure around every turn, but the other part of me thinks how nice it would be to find our dream house and settle down.
At least with all the moving there are some pretty phenomenal resources out there for military families. My most favorite being, PCSgrades.com. It is a fantastic website that allows military families to make their own profiles and grade all the places they’ve called home.
It gives you the honest reviews of neighborhoods, realtors, base housing, and is constantly adding new topics to voice your opinion on. I know that the next time my husband comes home with orders, PCSgrades.com, is the first place I am going to check out.
P is for PCS is part of the A to Z Challenge that I have decided to participate in for the month of April.
If your a military family past or present and want to learn more about PCSgrades please click on this link, PCSgrades.com, head on over and create your profile and start sharing your grades of duty stations both present and past. The only way PCSgrades can be successful is if wonderful people like you all head on over and leave you honest opinions!
