Stitches by Natalie can turn an old swaddle blanket into a memory puppy or kitten!
Not too long ago I was approached by Natalie from Stitches by Natalie introducing me to her adorable memory puppy. She explained to me how she takes old swaddle blankets and turns them into adorable stuffed animals to hold the memories of your little one.
Since I am such a big fan of up-cycling and finding multiple uses for things, this seemed right up my alley! At first, I knew I would like it, and would be happy to have something special to remember the infant period of our daughter’s life. But, I had no idea the emotional response I would have when I opened the package.
How It Works
The Memory Puppy’s are all made from a hospital swaddle or any flannel swaddle and are made to capture a baby’s birth.
All I had to do was pick out one of the swaddle blankets we used while our daughter was itty bitty and mail it to the address provided by Stitches by Natalie, and provide her with our daughter’s information. Like her name, birthday, birth time, weight, and length. Sine we are a military family, I asked if she could also include the location that our daughter was born, since we move so often. Natalie was happy to add the line for us!
Then I just had to wait patiently (not my best quality) by the mail for the puppy to arrive. The day it arrived, I came skipping in the house. My husband thought I was crazy…which he may or may not think regularly.
As I said earlier, I knew I would like it, but I had no idea the reaction I would have. When I opened the package I felt tears filling my eyes. I loved it. Having something so special and unique made from the blanket we used to swaddle our little princess when she was itty bitty meant so much more to me than I ever could have expected.
Not only is the memory puppy adorable, but it such a fun way to remember that amazing day that our daughter made us a family of three!
Our daughter adores the memory puppy as well. She loves carrying it around and giving it kisses. For now, it proudly lives on her self, and she is welcome to play with it from time to time, but eventually it will become a permanent fixture on her shelf, or maybe the one in our room!

I am a mother of three boys 5, 2.5 and 5 months. They keep me very busy during the day so all of my sewing is done late at night or at nap time if they all sleep at the same time.
